The following are not suitable for permanent makeup:
Those who are pregnant and/or nursing
Taking blood thinners
Taking Accutane within one year
Heart conditions or using heart medications
Diabetes (will require a physician's note)
Skin conditions such as cold sores or fever blisters, permanent makeup application can trigger outbreaks, permanent makeup cannot be applied during active outbreaks
Received botox within the last 2 weeks
Have developed a deep tan or received a chemical peel in the last 2 weeks
Allergies to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine, or epinephrine
Any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note, we reserve the right to request a physician's note to secure a permanent makeup booking, if we feel a medical condition may be a contraindication for permanent makeup, for your safety and ours
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason. Our technicians make the decision to perform services for an individual based on their own discretion.
Depending on what area is being treated, permanent makeup usually lasts from 1 - 5 years.
Brows, 1 - 2 years
Eyeliner, 3 - 5 years
Lips, 1 - 5 years
This also depends on skin quality, aftercare, and lifestyle.
Things that can cause ink to fade faster:
oily skin
sun exposure without proper protection
skin care products that increases skin cell turnover rate (e.g. Retin-A, AHAs, glycolic acid, etc.)
not following proper aftercare procedures
Initial applications, upon the client's satisfaction and approval of the shape, style, and colour, typically take between 3 - 4 hours.
Touch-up applications usually take 1 - 2 hours.
Day 1: For the first 24 hours after the treatment, the tattoo will be weeping lymph fluid. Remove the lymph every 1 - 3 hours (depending on the amount of fluid present) by gently wiping the area with wet cotton pad or rinsing the skin using distilled water (or cooled down boiled water). Removing lymph fluid will reduce scabbing.
Do not stretch the skin while wiping. Skin is well cleansed when there are no traces of pigment on the wipe. Allow the area to dry, then apply a thin layer of the provided balm. Before bed, wash the face and treated area with distilled water and a mild soap. Apply a thin layer of balm with slow, circular and gentle movements.
Day 2 - 10: Cleanse the area at least 2 times per day with mild soap and water, and apply balm. Lip blushing - cleanse lips after eating.
Dry & Normal Skin: Apply balm at least 2 - 3 times a day, or as needed if skin feels stretched, tight or dry
Oily Skin: Apply balm if you feel stretching of the skin in the treated area
If beyond Day 10, the treated area is still feeling dry and tight, the balm or moisturizer of your choice can be used.
Things to Avoid:
Touching healing tattoos without washing your hands first
Makeup or skincare products, other than mild soap and provided balm, on treated area for at least 10 days
Neosporin, Vaseline or other petroleum-based products
Scrubbing, scratching or picking at scabbing or peeling tattoos, as this can cause uneven pigmentation and scarring
Excessive sweating, including exercise, pools, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or very hot showers, as this expands pores and causes pigment to spread and blur
Tanning or excessive sun exposure for at least 14 days after your appointment
Direct, unprotected, excessive sun exposure can cause premature fading of pigment, so it is highly recommended in applying SPF to treated area daily after fully healed
Facials, botox, laser or chemical treatments for 4 weeks after your appointment
Products containing exfoliants, including chemicals such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, PHAs, fruit or flower enzymes
Carrot soap, products for skin brightening, and/or containing kojic acid
Products containing retinoids, including retinal, retinol, and tretinoin
Glutathione supplements, such as Met Tathione, as they can increase the risk of skin reactions and increase cell turnover rate, leading to premature fading of pigment
Tweezing, waxing, threading or any hair removal products on the treated area until fully healed
Sleeping on your face for 1 week after your appointment
We suggest booking your appointment on a day where you do not have other social activities planned, as there may be some redness and swelling after
Please Note: The success of the treatment will always depend on skin quality, adherence to aftercare instructions, and the individual's immune system. These factors aren’t under control of the artist thus, any guarantee for the treatment is not be possible.
Prior to your appointment:
No alcohol or caffeine within 24 hours
No Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, C, or Ibuprofen within 72 hours, unless otherwise directed by your physician
For clients receiving lip blushing who have a history of cold sores, it is highly recommended to get an anti-viral prescription at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment, to minimize the chance of an outbreak occurring before your appointment, as we cannot perform a lip blushing application with active cold sores. An anti-viral will also reduce the chances of lip blushing triggering an outbreak.
Any waxing or should be done at least 48 hours before or two weeks after your appointment
Brow or lash tinting or treatments should be completed at least 3 days before your appointment, and should not be completed again until your tattoo has fully healed
No saunas, steam rooms, pools, hot tubs, or anything else that will cause excessive sweating the day of your appointment, as well as during the healing process
No botox or fillers 4 weeks before or after your appointment
No tanning or excessive unprotected sun exposure one week before your appointment, as well as during the healing process. If you have a deep tan or sunburn on the day of your appointment, we will not be able to apply your PMU.
No Retin-A or Retinol for 2 weeks before your appointment
No Accutane for 1 year before your appointment. No exceptions.
No chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or resurfacing facial treatments or lasers for 1 month before your appointment
Any medical conditions that can affect your healing process and/or make you more susceptible to bleeding will require a physician's note before we will book your appointment. Such conditions include diabetes, cancer, autoimmune diseases, or hemophilia.
If you are undergoing chemotherapy, allergic to lidocaine, or taking blood thinners will also require a physician's note to secure a booking.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason. Our technicians make the decision to perform services for an individual based on their own discretion.
Most pmu will require touch-ups after the initial application. Number and frequency of touch-ups will depend on how each application heals. Certain areas may not take pigment as well, and will need to be refilled. The shapes and pigments may need to be adjusted, and more strokes or shading can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch-up session, as oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch-up session is when we perfect the look to ensure your final result is long-lasting.
We apply a mild numbing cream before and throughout application, to ensure your maximum comfort. Certain factors can increase your sensitivity, such as menstruation, certain medications, sensitive or inflamed skin, if there is any scar tissue in the area, etc.
Treated areas are typically fully healed after 4-6 weeks.
Day 1 - 2: The skin around tattoo will be red, tender and may have minimal swelling.
Day 3 - 5: The ink will oxidize, which will cause the tattoo to appear much darker and warmer in colour.
Oxidization is a normal part of healing, please do not attempt to lighten or fade pigment on your own. Trust the process!
Day 6 - 14: The tattoo will peel and scab. Do not pick at skin, as this can damage the tattoo and cause the pigment to be patchy. After the scabbing and peeling is finished, the colour can appear up to 40% lighter, treated and surrounding skin will have an opaque, milky appearance.
Day 30 - 45: The tattoo should be fully healed or in the final stage of healing, deposited pigment has returned to the surface of the skin, so the desired colour is displayed. Touch-ups, if necessary, can be booked.
Touch-ups can be performed after 4 weeks, but not earlier than that. This is to allow time for the skin to fully heal.
Please note: While most skin is completely healed after 28 days, treatments during this time will be much more painful, as the skin is brand new. Some pigments are still settling into the skin around 4 - 6 weeks, so we strongly suggest waiting 6 - 8 weeks before booking a touch-up.
Eyebrow hair stroke is a technique done using either a manual pen or tattoo machine pen, to produce hyper-realistic hair strokes. We offer different microblading and machine hair stroke styles such as Phibrows, Boldbrows, Nano Brows, Cashmere Brows, Veinsbrows, etc. This is suitable for normal and dry skin.
Eyebrow shading is a pmu brow style where brows appear closer to being filled in with makeup. Popular names for eyebrow shading techniques are Powder Brows, Magic Shading, Ombre Brows, etc. This is suitable for ALL skin types, and especially recommended for oily skin.
Lash Enhancement is an eyeliner tattoo where pigment is only placed along the lash line, to make it appear fuller.
Classic Eyeliner is around 1 - 2 mm thick with a wing and crisp line.
Soft Eyeliner is a Lash Enhancement with soft shading or shadow.
Stardust Eyeliner is a combination of Classic and Soft.
Lip Blushing is a technique using a 1point needle to implant pigments on the lips. We offer different styles like Aquarelle, Luxurious Lips, Diamond Lips, Superbright or Lipstick effect, to Lip toning or tinting. Styles differ on pigment placement like soft contour, hard contour, ombre, or simply just natural to enhance the colour of lips.
We take all proper safety precautions before, during, and after each permanent makeup application. We only use high quality, sterile needles that are disposed of after each use. All supplies are single-use, and any parts of the equipment that can not be discarded or disinfected are covered with single-use plastic film barrier.
Should clients follow our pre and post care instructions, there should be minimal risks and complications. Although allergic reactions to the pigment are rare, it could be possible for certain individuals.
If you have existing PMU completed by another artist, we require a consultation appointment first, so that we can assess the condition of the tattoo, and provide realistic solutions.
If your existing PMU has intense pigment, is extremely uneven, or of poor quality, it is likely that a removal would be required before a correction can be performed. For brows, any hair strokes done within the old tattoo may blend in and old microblading will still show.
A lash lift is a procedure where a perming solution is used to curl your lashes. This is suitable for anyone, even those that are allergic to lash glue or extensions, but want to have curled, lifted and longer looking lashes.
A lash tint uses semi-permanent dye to darken and enhance your natural lashes.
Lash Botox is an added procedure to help repair the damaged or broken eyelash fibres with a powerful concentrate of active ingredients.
Lash lifts last 6 - 8 weeks, and tint lasts 4 - 6 weeks.
We ask that you come in without any eye makeup on if possible. If you wear contact lenses, we request that you take them out for the duration of your appointment as well.
Refrain from getting your lashes wet for 24 hours, including excessive sweating, saunas, steam rooms, pools and hot tubs. Avoid rubbing your lashes, and sleeping on your face for the first night after your lift.
